Get me out.

If you have ever had an urge to kidnap me and take me to a far away place where we would be no rules, judgment, nagging, questions, demands and anything else related to living with parents, go for it. I can sacrifice a hot dinner and regularly clean sheets for a life of freedom and personal choice.

My mom: How bout we get our jammies on?
Me: *No response as I have died due to astonishment/embarrassment at previous question*

Eggnog

As I see it there are two types of people: Those who like eggnog and those who don't. The latter group of people are huge losers.

Current Activity: Dreaming of dance DESTRUCTION w/ The Grates.

My life = Girl Crushes and Dance DESTRUCTION!

F me. My 3 part TPC tour series has ended and while I have a little hole in my heart because I will not see them for sometime now, it can easily be masked by the fact that the past couple days have been TOTALLY SLY! Now for a show by show recap.

Canmore: Solo dancing, post show chats, popcorn and a stiff neck.
Calgary: Stress due to fact friends may not get in, happiness upon friends entrance, awe at the Grates, bliss upon the sounds of TPC, and comradery with fellow mad dancers.
Edmonton: Nachos, Huge dance space, Girl crushes, Boy crushes, Dance DESTRUCTION, and Band water.

The Calgary show was tight as! Gosh how I love broken city. There is also nothing like getting a smile because you are the only one who knows the lyrics to unreleased songs. Bootlegs, how you rock my world! I was in a pissy mood before the show started due to the "sold out" fiasco but The Grates made me forget every worry I'd every had. They are superb. TPC was great, especially when Josh and Graham introduced thier tambourine toss, which very nice, and even nicer at the Edmonton show. It was also nice when we talked and they noticed my dancing.

As for noticing dancing, in Edmonton when the Grates where playing the gorgeous lead singer (Patience Hodgson) pointed to me and said "this girl is the best dancer ever!" I almost died. Lucky I didn't because then I couldn't have danced my heart out. The entire show was the ultimate dance DESTRUCTION! Me, my crew and everyone on the dance floor took all the flooring in the Power Plant and shredded it to bits. I'm amazed we didn't dance our ways to China. After the Grates set, Patience came down and gave us all hugs then complimented me on my hair. I in turn complimented her on her own hair and her gorgeous looks. I think we both offically have girl crushes. Made some new friends while rockin out to Tokyo Police Clubs set, which was great, and afterwards talked to the boys and said goodbye. Did I mention that they loved it that I came again? Cause they did. And did I mention how they asked if I was going to be at the next show? Cause they did. Oh yeah, did I say how Josh Hook got me some band water? Cause he did.

Conclusions:

Watch out China, one day I'm doing to destroy every inch of floor beneath me and dance right in to your rice fields.

Girl Crushes are a wonderful thing.

So are Boy Crushes.

I may have a crush on every member of Tokyo Police Club. Chances are good.

Life Rocks. Hard.

Goodness! Edmonton and TPC? All the time please!

Yesterday in Canmore was my first viewing of Tokyo Police Club in my 3 part series of TPC shows. Tomorrow will be my hometown gig and part 2 of 3. Edmonton on friday will be part 3 and my final chance to make sore every muscle in my body by dancing hardcore with my new best friends. Why new best friends you ask? Cause I talked with them all yesterday and we bonded, that's why. Every single member of TPC is a genuine piece of male goodness, for your information.

IMPORTANT - Should you want to come to Edmonton with me to see TPC and potentially some CCH crew members - Edmonton Chapter, let me know and you can hop in my car Friday around 3pm. My car is a babe. You should come soley for a ride in that bad boy.

Question: Is it creepy to be secretly in love with someone?
Anwser : No. It is cute.

For lovely lyrics, lovely vocals and inspiring sounds, go here and listen to "Tessellate" many times over.

Missed it!

This is a specail post for all my Bitches and Hos in the Calgary area! Why weren't you at "That Empty Space" yesterday? I know, cause you're losers! Did I tell you about and you just didn't come? Mega loser! Never heard of "That Empty Space"? Oh my god! Get in the know!

To get you all in the loop, That Empty Space is a small space in Mac Hall that is not so empty, especially on Friday afternoons from 3-6 when it is filled with Beer, Bodies, and Bands. That is right laides and gentlemen, Free music, 3 dollars beers, and room full of people that is so hot, you sweat just standing.

This weeks musical stylings were The Meligrove Band and The Golden Dogs. You missed out! That's ok though, go with me in two weeks (I'm away next week) and all will be swell.

Hallelujah!

I just had my first mandarin orange and glass of eggnog for the season. And I'm listening to the Zombies! Delicious!

In the midst of a solo dance party in my kitchen.....

In the midst of a solo dance party in my kitchen, my glasses flew off the face. At the end of the song, I went to go find them. Not only was the lense missing, but a bunch of the frame had broken off. I found the lense, but now have a broken frame.

X-Mas List

I have started my Christmas list. It so far goes like this:

Scrubs DvDs.

...to be continued.

Less is more.

Why does image hosting aggravate me so? Oh yeah, that's right! Cause it sucks!

In order to get good grades so that I can transfer universities next year, I have decided that less is more. Not less studying you doofus! Less TV! The following is my new weekday tv schedule. I must stick to this religiously. The only fluctuations can be if I drop a show (less is more!) or if I watch TV while working out because that doesn't really count (I could read my textbooks while working out but who does that? One step at a time. Gosh.)

Everyday - the 2 episodes of scrubs and 1 episode of miami ink which were recorded from the previous day.

Monday - The Class
Tuesday - Gilmore Girls
Wednsday - ANTM
Thursday - Ugly betty/Survivor (watch alternate recording next day)
Friday - Life with Derek

The weekend is schedule free as I generally don't watch TV then except for The Amazing Race which is on Sunday nights.

With a high class and extremely strict schedule such as this, I shall soon become the smartest Math Major in all of U of C.

Christina my Love!

Christina Aguilera is coming to Calgary on March 15. While this is not big news to some people (by some I mean most) I know, this was very big news to me. I love Christina Aguilera. Firstly, she is a bombshell. Secondly, her voice is dynamite and Thirdly, her new CD is awesome! Of course, it wouldn't be Christina without the emotional ballads but have you seen the music vidoe for "Hurt"? With her new image, even the power pop ballads (which are less power pop and more awesome then they used to be) are good. Now comes the bad news: I could potentially be away on March 15 however I wont know until mid December and by that time tickets will probably be sold out. I could of course by a ticket now and sell it if I can't go but then that turns in to a pain (they are also 100$). RATS!

"The Class" is my new favorite sitcom. After Scrubs of course (new season starts nov. 30!).

Oh the Photo!

OH, that picture that is my new blog heading? Yeah I took it. Where? At THE LOVELY FEATHERS!! That is them, by the way. I may go do some school work now. Shocking, I know.

Current Location: Nirvana Company: The Lovely Feathers

ATTENTION WORLD!

Last night was the greatest night of my life.

Why? Because I saw the Lovely feathers. Not only did I see them, I danced w/ them, I sang w/ them, I talked w/ them and I smiled w/ them. My life is complete.

The night started off like this: Me and Janer at Karen's with her puppy. Suddenly, a call from the delicious Molly Swain with instructions to meet her at Broken City (aka. my new favorite place). After a fabulous foggy windshield drive and a great park job in the sketchiest of sketch alleys, we arrive. We now only have 3 hours to wait before the show starts. Good times ensue as drinks and food are ingested and friends appear from all over. During this time there were slight moments of shortness of breath when members of the Lovely Feathers would walk past us or simply stand in the corner on the other side of the bar and breath (an incredible sight to see). 9:30 finally rolls around the the opening bands open up the show. Crazy, I know (please notice rhyme-arama just then). While they were good (espcially Ghost Keeper, a local band) all I wanted was The Lovely Feathers.

Now, I'm generally very nervous around bands and such but I could tell tonight was going to be a different kind of night. While Molly and I admired the moogerfooger device, Noah Bernamoff, the bassist, went to grab a cord but it slipped from his grasp. Seeing as it was right by me I handed it back to him which made that action the biggest interaction I have ever had with a band. During soundcheck the boys would play little riffs from their songs, all which made me and my comrades short of breath. By the time Mark Kupfert opened his mouth to the microphone and spoke his first words, my body was in full on freak out status. Frantic was their first song and I went off. The best night of my life had just begun.

The Feathers played old stuff and new stuff and both were fabulous. The new songs made me tres excite for la nouvelle album which should becoming out early next year and during every song off My best friend Daniel or Hind Hind Legs, Molly and I (and karen and this sweet girl who i didn't know) would sing at the top of our lungs and dance like we have never danced before. Mid way throught the set, Mark looks over at us and is like "you know, if there isn't enough room on the floor you guys could come and dance up here" I look and my friends and my jaw drops. "Man" I say "I definitly have to hit that up" Mark then looks at his crew and is all "Roddy? Roddy." Then whispers in to the microphone "stewart". Now I have a lot of history with this song as I played it all summer at Kamp and everyone loves it and it is one of my fav songs to play on guitar. I look at my friend Coral from Kamp and we freak out. I then look at Molly and we freak out. We then look at the Lovely feathers and freak out because we are going to go dance with them.

So we are on stage, busting a move to rod stewart and singing at the top of our lungs. Now, previously to this in the middle of some song, I can't remember which, Mark says "It's your turn now" and Molly and I sang at the top of lungs while the Lovley feathers played. It was awesome. Little did I know things would get much, much awesomer. Back to dancing 30 cms away from Mark, Ted, David and Noah. During one part of the song Mark leans away from his microphone and I, Katelyn Louise Mudry, sang into Mark Kupferts microphone for all of Broken City to hear. I know it didn't sound anywere near as good as the real thing, but hopefully people got the gist of how much I LOVE this band. After Roddy is finished and Mark thanks me and I thank him for being awesome, I run real quick to the bathroom cause that is how I roll.

When they played Wrong Choice I almost started to cry I was so happy. Nothing is better then seeing you favorite band with some of your favorite people and listening to a song that will rip your heart out. They then said that that was actually thier last song. No way was that going to happen. With encouragement from the crowd, the boys ended up doing not 1, but 2 more encores, being far over thier alotted set time. The last song they played was Frantic, for the second time and it was like heaven. Espically when David passed us the microphone and I once again was a part of the Lovely feathers sound. Afterwards I shook hands with Mark and David and told them how much I loved them, talked to Noah about Richard who is unfourtunatly off at med. school and we both gave props to doctors, and talked to Ted while buying 61 dollars worth of merch (some was for my sister).

I can now say that I have personally talked to, sang with, danced with, smiled with and sweated with The Lovely Feathers. My life is complete.

I am not a whore.

Happy post all hallows eve! A couple things I learned Last night:
- Tight black dresses are bad for dancing
- Should you dance in a tight black dress, it will most likely rip from the zipper to your mid thigh
- Black pantyhose is good for covering bottoms in ripped dresses
- Black pantyhose is very hot for dancing
- Halloween is for whores
- I'm not a whore
- Very attractive males make me self conscious and nervous
- Bosoms are not good for holding coat check tags
- Should you lose your coat check tag, tip the girl 12 dollars

All in all a good night. I now however have and issue. Because I was a mourner, I had black makeup running down my face because I had been crying. Now I have black makeup stuck on my face because i don't ever wear makeup and don't now how to get it off because it is so close to my eyes and delicate eyelashes.
