Last Night and what's to come!

Mother Mother was real good last night. Don't believe me? See for your self!

Mother Mother - Touch up on Vimeo

I also took some pics, they are on my Flickr. I really wish I could take sweet concerts pics. By observing the H core photographers in front of me they seem to just prop themselves on things to make their camera steady and not need a flash. I am slightly to nervous to do this but really want to take some mad shots at the next show I am at. Chances are you may see me leaning 'gainst a wall in the coming weeks.

Things I am excited for:

Gaye Rage on Friday!! I love Broken City with alllll my heart.

Sasquatch festival! Tickets go on sale on March 3rd!

March 12 upon which I leave for a 2 week Biathloning expedition and thus will no longer be lounging around my house all day!

How Stupid we get.

My mother just called and told me she needed help with a math question. I used to be a Pure Math Major so I get this all the time. I'm mentally prepping myself while she tells me the question. I'm expecting something really hard with like, matrices and unknowns and a big geological equation but instead, she asks me a question any elementary student could answer. The question went as follows: If I have one area in Km and the other in meters, do I have to convert the meters to KM? I said of course, then she complained that then the number would be so small. I then hit my forehead with my hand because of my mothers stupidity. She continues to explain the problem and it turns out the measurement in meters is actually width. She isn't doing an area problem at all, it is in fact a volume problem. I told her that in grade 2 we all learn that when doing math, we must use the same units for all measurements and that the area for volume is longeur x largeur x hauteur and that I couldn't remember what is was in English. So much for a bilingual education. And so much for my mothers elementary education.

A Side note: My friend (Molly Fucking Swain) just got the sweetest job ever. I am eagerly awaiting her call so that we might discuss. By discuss I really mean scream and jump and probably wave my hands a lot so as to not smudge my non existent mascara with my tears of joy.

Everything good about Chickens, Roosters and Mermaids called Baby comes round full scale tomorrow night.

Tomorrow I am going to see Mother Mother at Broken City. I purchased their cd, Touch Up, 3 days ago on my 100 dollar musical shopping spree. Looks like I wont be purchasing any VodkaCrans for a while. That's OK though because every Album I bought (Professor Murder, Mother Mother, The Junction, Man Man, and The Long Blondes) was totally worth it. Back to Mother Mother, their album is the best album I have ever bought that boasts a 5 headed chicken as it's cover art. They sing alot about roosters and have many sexual references and awesome harmonies. Did I mention that the one song (Polynesia) talks about a Mermaid? Cause it does. They also use the word Baby in multiple songs. Calling someone Baby is very cool. I wish someone called me baby everyday (except not if they creepy. Only if they are Josh Hook but if you've ever read my blog before/talked to me/looked at my desktop background you would already know that cause I talk about him all the time.) Speaking of Baby, I really like Dirty Dancing and so should you. DD Havana nights is also pretty good although I hate the girl in it. Diego Luna makes up for everything wrong with the girl because he is so utterly amazing.

Goal for next blog entry: Don't be so slack ass on links.

F

I am going to cry. I finally decided to buy my coachella tickets, go online and they are sold out. I would have bought them yesterday but I was at the passport office all day. Two minutes ago the Coachella website posted that they were sold out. I almost feel sick to my stomach. This is what happens when you think things through - you get F'd.

Commercials.

I HATE every single thing about the Jared jewelry store commericials. They make me scream out loud and want to smash my really nice TV in to 4 000 tiny pieces.

Cool, Awesome, Whatever girlfriend!

I am doing my two favorite things right now - being on the interent (specifically my blog) and watching tv (specifically Men in Black on TBS). I am experiencing neck pain right now but it's the good kind induced by f-ing Sudden Infant Dance Syndrome and the way they make me rock out. I recently listend to a beautiful song on the guitar by a beautiful band and preformed by a beautiful girl.

The "bug" guy in MIB is really gross and ugly. Also, I had a dream the other day about cobras being draped all over my body. I would like to punch Molly and Jake Swain in the face for this as they were the ones who were talking about snakes and how pythons can swallow a full human. Luckily there was a Czech hero who saved me from the snakes. There was also an other Czech who was beautiful and laughed at the snake situation so I threw a hand full of rocks at him.

Often I find that my blog entries make me sound like a lazy, mindless, boy crazy, girl in junior high.

Those Porportions were extremely Epic.

So a couple nights ago I saw Rebecca Ramone, Micheal Bernard and These Proportions are Epic. It was one of the best shows I have ever been to.

I had only listened to MB's Cd once, at a formal Christmas party and danced to in in my grad dress with my friend Justin. He said "MB is coming in Feb" and I was like "I'll be there!" So we went. We walked in to the Mac Hall ballroom and got a little bit nervous. There were chairs set up in front of a massive stage with multiple multiple instruments and lots of lamps. We were like, oh god what is this. How were we going to dance to Micheal Bernard's groovin guitar sounds whilst sitting in our chairs? Our friend's girlfriend, Brianne, assured us that it would be very good and we believed her because she is a) very cool and nice and b) was part of "These Proportions are Epic". Rebbecca Ramone opened and she has an amazing voice. I would have bought her cd but the only thing I had in my wallet was Euros. Next was Micheal Bernard. He opened with some acoustic songs and I became very excited. Not only does he have a great voice, mad skills, and beautiful vests, but also rugged good looks. Once These Proportions are Epic came on life seemed almost perfect. These Proportions are Epic was a large group of students, mainly from U of L and U of C, who together made up the orchestra, choir and dance group that filled out Micheal's show. The combination of soulful guitar, soaring violin, pounding piano, enchanting choral vocals and fanciful dancing (yes, live dancing in front of the musicians) was absolutely amazing. At the end of the set, the actors which had been doing little skits before and after all the acts came on again to finish their scenario on true love. It was very nice and I felt very happy. Little did I know that this would not be the best part of the evening. Micheal called for a girl to come up to the stage, quickly if she didn't mind. She climbed up on to the stage and the Bassist took off his bass and walked over to her. He dropped to his knee, and in front of 300 people, asked the girl to marry him. She cried and said yes. I cried as well because it was a very happy moment. Justin then laughed at me because I was wiping my tears with my scarf. All in all, an incredible show that reminds you of everything good in life. Mad props to Micheal Bernard and everyone involved.

Everyday happenings.

Last night I couldn't sleep. I moved from my bed to the couch and feel asleep instantly.

My dad said I looked like a train wreck. I got my Passport photo taken. My dad said I looked like a drug addict.

Bought, drank, and renewed my love for So Good soy milk.

I applied for two jobs. Have gotten no response as of yet.

Just thought about how awesome "The Office" is while watching clips from it on youtube.

Currently multitasking - blogging and fantasizing.

Thursday Feb. 1st 2007

Today has been a pretty typical day.

Started off with some tea, burnt my throat. Did the wash and realized I had absolutely nothing to wear because it was all in the wash. Had a shower for far too just long because I liked the hot water. Went to go drop off some resumes, basically got rejected by American Apparel on the spot. Parked in the wrong parking lot at Community Health foods and while backing out of my spot, hit the car behind me. Ate a rum filled chocolate from Italy and almost fell down the stairs due to the amount of rum in it. Watched the latest episode of The Office for the third time and laughed even harder then the first two times. Marveled at John Krasinski's rugged good looks, excellent acting abilities and perfect teeth. Ate toast with and PB and honey and proceed to get a stomach ache. Blogged.

Other then that, I am going to see Michael Bernard and some other band I don't know the name of tonight. Never have I been so unprepared for a concert, but I still expect to have a good time. Especially because my ticket only cost 15$ with my student discount. And my birthday is in 6 days.
