Bring it on!

My internet has been on the Fritz. Possible because of mega downloading bogging down our server. Or something like that. I don't really know what I'm talking about. Anyways all in all I say it was worth it because we (my sister and I) downloaded Bring it on! and Bring it on! All or nothing. Both super sweet movies. While Bring it on! gets serious props for being the original and introducing me to the world of competitive cheerleading, spirit fingers and Brrr it's cold in here, both my sister and I agree that All or nothing is a better cinematic experience. One of the best parts in All or Nothing is the "roll call" that the Crenshaw Heights Warriors do. Them girls got attitude. Also, I really like the part when Camille, played by Solange Knowles, is ready to throw down. She's just like "Carisha! Hold my shit" and starts to take out her shoulder length hoop earrings. Clearly she has done this before.

Something that surprised me about both films is the blatant use of racial stereotypes. Not only do they play up the "only white kids go to rich schools" and "only black kids and the occasional Latino come from the ghetto", there is racists comments throughout both movies that are slightly shocking. One of the best examples is from All or nothing when the New Rich/White girl Captain Winnie looks to her Asian "friend" and says "Shut up Crouching Tiger".

In the end, these movies have made me drop my old anti-cheer views and embrace the intenseness that is cheerleading. In the most serious of tones, I would totally be a cheerleader if I could do a standing back handspring back tuck. Now all I need to do is watch Bring it on! 2 - Bring it on again to complete my cheer-experience. Also, if you can't get enough of extreme displays of mad athletic ability, check out STICK IT which is a totally fly film.

Side note - I saw Bring it on Again and it is very bad. Not even the Cheerleading was cool. It is an awful movie. That is probably why All or Nothing is so good, to make up for that travesty of a movie.

Summer

Summer is good. Why?

Warm Weather. Jumping in Lakes. Eating fresh Fruit. Family Vay-cay. Laughing. Special friends. Relationships. Summer Camp. Counseling. Kids. Falling in love with kids. Special People. Late nights. Cozy Sleeps. Singing. Green. Music. Caring Parents. Lying down. Running. Playing. Fudgicles. Bare Feet. Sandal Tans. Watch Tans. Sunshine, deep down in my heart. Said deep deep, said down down said deep down in my heart.

OMG. Opened up the newspaper today, and realized the world is in a crazy state.
