Throw back to awesome!

Hanson is coming to Toronto. I am going. FUCK YEAH!

I forgot my Middle of Nowhere cd in Calgary. Shitballs basically. It's ok though, I have "The Best of Hanson Live and Acoustic", "Underneath" and "Underneath (Acoustic)" so I can tide myself over until I download the rest.

I have decided to start doing research projects when I am bored instead of dicking around. I don't know how well this will go. I bet I will probably just nap a lot but here is hoping. My list, as of yet, is as follows:
Aspartame
Key board shortcuts (of all kinds)
Endangered animals, specifically Giant Pandas
Italian (the language)
Trumpets vs Clarinets (which one should I buy?)
Sushi (I have already but more in depth this time)

If you think of any good topics you think I should research, please comment on this post. I am bored often.

For those who are wondering, yes I am currently so bloated I can't do up my belt and have ditched the belt completely. Unfortunately my bloating does not affect my butt so my pants are kind of falling down. Cause of bloating: 5 spoonfuls of peanut butter. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to discuss how crappy my stomach is.

It's totally quotable/I miss you David Gerring

How did we break out of New Zealand? I don't know. It's not a prison, it's just a country
- Jemaine Clement, Flight of the Conchords

I like the internet heaps.

Imagine being whale a and sleeping. They always have to be conscious, as they are conscious breathers, so only one half of their brain sleeps at a time. While that is extremely interesting (thank you Wikipedia) lets think about just being asleep in a big ass body of water. Just floatin around. I wonder if they ever wake up go HOLY CRAP! WHERE AM I?!. I bet they do all the time. Also, you could never really cuddle if you were a whale. Momma's and babies do, but that's cause the babies are real wee and just hang out round mommas belly. Fully grown whales would just get swept apart when they wanted to cuddle. I bet there is a lot of broken hearted whales who wake up alone and think that their boy/girl mate left them but really there was just a strong current the other night and now their boy/girl mate is all HOLY CRAP! WHERE AM I?! and acutally still utterly in love with their brokenhearted counterpart.

I'm off to go watch some Flight of the Conchords

Music
Wearing awesome clothes
Dancing
Outside
Running
Friends
Sex in the City
Ass Kicking
Climbing on to rooftops
Being a non Smoker

Boredom

I realized one of the reasons why I like working at camp so much: There is always something to do. I am bored as shit here in university. I am going to now eat my ex roommates peanut butter (Laura! I miss you!) and play the Brokeback Mountain score on my guitar.

It's been a while....

.... since I made a good list. Before you read my incredible list, go here and fall in love with Los Campesinos! cause they effing rule.

Things I need to do:
Dance Party
Eat sushi (particularly FutoMaki with a miso soup)
Kick my sushi addiction
Get a job
Go to Australia
Get back to Calgary
Invent a teleporter for the above two
Be in a band
Tune my Mandolin
Oh crap! That project for Friday
Fix up my bitchin new Architecture in Helsinki shirt/dress
Call my girlfriend (McFace!)
Play my harmonica
Eat more sushi

As you can see, missing people and eating Sushi are the biggest things in my life. Also, I have a really hard time falling asleep at night. Which is awful because I have a pillow now and I thought that was the issue. Clearly no.

Jail time is fun time at night time.

I can't sleep.

I really like Nicole Richie, and as of late, David letterman as well.

An afternoon with my Macbook Pro.

"People in love lie around and get fat" - Art Brut

I dig Art Brut's new Album "It's a Bit Complicated." They are a hoot, and Oh so British. Stay tuned for my favorite track, downloadable by you thanks to the interweb!

Also, I have been getting really pissed off at how awfully my mouse has been functioning. There is now a red light that flashes on and off. I think the batteries are low. Should I change them, I expect many more good times with my mouse, my computer and life in general.

On a related note, this is my PSA to laptop users out there: Get a real mouse and don't use your mouse pad all the time. Otherwise you will get arthritis and/or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

I'm far away.

That won't work, but it's what I want.

Sentence that is applicable to most everything in my life.

Instead of studying for my midterm... (MUSIC!)

I bought a lot of new CD's over the long weekend. They are fabulous. Also, I have friends you live ina sweet house and hour and a half away by transit so I have ample time to really listen to not only my new CD's but just lots of good music in general. Here are three of my top top picks as of late:

Black Francis - Angels come to comfort you
From his kick ass new album "Bluefinger". Black Francis (and the Pixies) is basically the foundation of my love for music/how I learned to play guitar. This man is a legend.

Two Gallants - Miss Meri
I forgot where I heard about this band but when I saw thier album in Megatunes I knew that I had to buy it. Good life choice.

Stars - Window Bird
While "In Our Bedroom After the War" disappointed many upon it's release (really though, what can compare to "Set Your Self on Fire"?) it is growing on me. Many songs, while less epic then those on SYSOF, are very poignant and beautiful. This is my current fav. I am seeing them in November and am real excited.

P.S

I bought a new tooth brush. It was 7$ and is totally glorious. Also, I am applying for a job today.

Jimble Jamble.

The title of this post was supposed to be totally random but then I typed it out and thought about how much I love Jim from the Office. Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley, this post title goes out to you and your fabulous relationship. May your writers never screw you up. They will though, it's inevitable. That is how television works. Nothing is perfect. That is how life works.

Last night my roomie Laura Bastedo and I had a blast. The blast included drinkskis which I purchased at the good old LCBO. If you go there on friday nights round 7, it's really busy and they don't check your ID. Tip for all the underage kids without fake IDs out there. That read my blog, and live in Ontario. Ok, that is Zero.

We danced and, pranced and watched Y tu Mama Tambien. That movie is phenomenal. We then bought 2 pizza's and shared them with the girls down the hall because they shared their three boxes of Kraft Dinner with us. It was actually Kraft brand and it ruled. I then got a very large Gluten and Lactose baby and we walked around campus. Photography ensued. While everything I ingested last night was delicious, I would make some changes for next time. They go as follows:

Drink more water.
Don't buy Pizza
Don't eat Kraft dinner
Basically, don't eat things I am allergic to and stay hydrated.

This is a doctrine which I have been saying I will follow for a very long time. I generally do pretty good but slip up about once every two weeks. A delicious free life is hard to go by. At least I have Vegetarian sushi going for me.

Question: Why is this post so early on a saturday morning after such a glorious friday night?
Answer: My digestion, or lack there of is reeking havoc with my sleeping abilities. I need an abortion.

Oh T.O

All I do at school is eat, take my pants off, and sleep. I currently am hungry and sleepy. My pants are off but my Beasties Boys tshirt is on. See what I'm talking about? I got millions of new music to blog about soon. I am also checking my mail box soon. If you've yet to mail me a letter, this is your chance. I leave for the mail box in 15 minutes. My address is on my profile. Do it.

Did I already say that I forgot my toothbrush in Calgary? Cause i did and it is like, the biggest drama of my life.

Dear Calgary, I love you.

When traveling, I suggest everyone carry a Mandolin with them. That way you look awesome, people think you are a badass musician and random people ask you if you are playing any shows that night.

Got back to Toronto tonight, and it's still really fucking warm.

Thursday, October 04, 2007

Today is Thursday. Which is almost Friday.

I have multiple guitar/madolin picks strewn across my lame ass room here in residence. Sometimes I get up from my desk after a good computer sess and walk to the kitchen to look at all the food I don't have and can't eat. A pick then falls off my fore arm where it got stuck while I was resting my arm on my desk in front of my computer. I laugh and neglect to pick it up because I am really lazy. This is basically how everyday of my life goes.

I listen to Frog Eyes as my days go by. So should you. If you want. (You should want to)

This is a heading from my Marketing text book. "Getting to know the automobile custom(h)er and influenc(h)er". Oh gender equality, you are a hoot.

The only reason I wear clothes is to keep my body contained.

I just saw Beirut. It was incredible. I talked to Owen Pallett before the show, he signed my poster then the concert started. Winter In Alaska and Colleen opened and they were both beautiful and amazing and inspiring. Then came fucking Beirut.

Beirut blew my mind. Music is THE BEST thing in the world. Nothing is better. They did two encores and got all of Danforth music hall to their feet and the majority of us on the stage. My heart exploded. My body almost exploded. Good thing I was wearing clothes. I was part of the official Choir, directed by the beautiful bass player. Oh yeah, Owen Pallett played with them for the encore. And sang for one song. This is how life should be, always.

Blankets, beds, and Beirut!

Yesterday I slept for the whole day. I was up for 2 hours to eat and talk about mountains with the glorious Ellorie Mcknight but then went back to bed till 8 pm. Granted, I was up till 5:30 the night before because of Nuite Blanche (which was sweet). I slept for three hours after my morning class today. I think I am chronically sleep deprived.

I am going to see Beirut tomorrow. I am thrilled. Concerts rule. I am still living off my Bloc Party high. And wearing my Bloc Party shirt. I must go find a piano ASAP.

For those concerned with my academic career - I just finished two classes worth of reading. Brap! Only 3 more to go. and review. and midterms. and a project. But still, better then I was an hour ago.
